Red-Bottomed Shoe Showcases: The Christian Louboutin Exhibition Celebrates 20 Years of the Designer’s Fabulous Footwear

A temporarily blonder version of BRUNETTE John Ibbitson headed over to the Design Exchange earlier this week to get an up-close-and-personal tour of the museum’s Christian Louboutin Exhibition, which is currently on display now through the 15th of September.

A must for any shoeaholic, fashionista, or lover of excessively extravagant design, the Christian Louboutin exhibit celebrates 20 years of the designer’s work, life, and history in the world of high fashion, and puts a brilliantly curated selection of some of the designer’s most iconic, red-soled heels on display.

Visitors of the exhibit can expect to see footwear worn by top Hollywood actresses and pop divas, as well as pieces inspired by everything from world cultures to major fashion movements, and from ordinary objects to personal mementos and stories from Louboutin’s past.

There is even a velvet-curtained section of the retrospective that lets guests explore their naughty side with a voyeuristic look into some of the designer’s more risqué pieces and the creation process behind them. The exhibit also houses a wide selection of men’s shoes, an interactive hologram featuring Louboutin’s celebrity muse, burlesque performer Dita Von Teese, and a fairytale-like telling of the artist’s life presented in a short, animated film. So if you’re like THE BRUNETTES and prefer flamboyance over function when it comes to your footwear, then the Christian Louboutin Exhibition is not to be missed.

Reviving an 80s style aesthetic, this image series highlights flamboyant color combinations, graffiti-inspired textile prints and raver sportswear looks that are handpicked by wardrobe stylist Bobby Bowen.

Culturally Crafted Streetwear - The Rebel Yuths ORISHA Collection is Artfully Urban

Inspired by the African background of designer Damier Johnson, the Rebel Yuths 'ORISHA' collection combines artfully expressive textiles with the label's sculptural eyewear. This edgy line of streetwear is crafted with both an urban and high-fashion sensibility in mind and brings a cultural aesthetic to life.

Translated as 'Initiations', the latest menswear collection from Rebel Yuths explores traditional African beliefs in otherworldly forces. This clothing line focuses in detail on the ancient art of Voodoo in which Orishas represent the ruling powers of the universe.

Moreover, this visually striking collection is meant to also explore the African influence over Caribbean island cultures that see Voodoo as a daily ritual in life.

Fresh Footballer Fundies: The David Beckham Bodywear Collection for H&M Goes into Overtime

Launching today online and at well over 2000 H&M locations worldwide, comes the latest in the David Beckham Bodywear line. This Autumn update to the collection sees new additions to the range, expanding the line to include new, casual pieces that can be worn anytime rather than just as undergarments.

18 months of research brought about a fresh change to David Beckham Bodywear, giving it an ever-so-cool look inspired by old East London and a fit that promises to be as comfortable as it is stylish.

Raglan-sleeve tops, jersey joggers, and tanks with contrast details are just a few of the additional pieces that can be seen modeled by Beckham in the new campaign, which just happens to be set in a traditional locker room.
