Digital Designer Collaborations: The VAWK for eBay Collection is a Web-Based Exclusive

With so many designers now partnering with affordable, fast-fashion brands like H&M and Target, it may come as no surprise to fashion followers that online retailer and premiere auction site eBay is vying for a piece of the action.

Collaborating with Canadian designer Sunny Fong, who is known to many for his more-than-deserving win on the second season of 'Project Runway Canada', eBay is launching a 7-piece capsule collection with fixed, but very reasonable, price points.

Crafted as an extension of the designer’s VAWK label, the VAWK for eBay collection makes high fashion accessible to the masses with each piece in the range costing less than $200.00 CAD. The collection officially goes on sale tonight at midnight and is available for purchase until September 15th, 2013. It includes both clothing and accessories. There is even a killer, leather tie available for the guys.

World Mastercard Fashion Week Fall 2013 : Best of Day 4

Rich layers and luxurious textile combinations took to the runway stage during Day 4 of World Mastercard Fashion Week. The diverse showing featured presentations from Maison Matthew GallagherUNTTLDSoïa & KyoRudsak and Project Runway Canada winner Sonny Fong's label Vawk

While retro glamor reigned at Maison Matthew Gallagher, all-black textures were a staple of the UNTTLD Fall 2013 show. Moreover, Vawk's militant inspiration was carried through to Soïa & Kyo's collection that featured luxe layers of leather and tweed combinations. Lastly Rudsak married aesthetics with practicality as models walked in ensembles that were both fashion and weather-conscious.

The Vawkkin and Vawk Spring 2013 Collections @ World Mastercard Fashion Week

The Vawkkin and Vawk Spring 2013 collections graced the stage at Toronto's World Mastercard Fashion Week. Designed by Project Runway Canada Season 2 winner Sunny Fong, the double showing featured Fong's everyday workwear line Vawkkin and his more high-end label Vawk.

While clean lines and classic workwear silhouettes took the spotlight at Vawkkin, figure-conscious frocks, red carpet gowns and corseted undertones ruled the stage at Vawk. Merging two perspectives, Sunny Fong's sister collections take one from day to evening and from work to play.

THE BRUNETTES @ World MasterCard Toronto Fashion Week Spring 2013: Day 5

THE BRUNETTES started off day five of World MasterCard Toronto Fashion Week with a little handshaking and business card swapping with other industry insiders at a speed-networking event, which was organized by Fashion Takes Action and FGI Toronto.

After learning about and making connections with several fascinating fashion entrepreneurs, THE BRUNETTES took in the day’s runway presentations. These included edgier shows from labels TRAVIS TADDEO and UNTTLD, a fairytale-like wedding dress showcase from designer Bruce Dang for Paraezo Couture, ‘Project Runway Canada’s’ winning designer Sunny Fong’s latest wares from his VAWK line, and more commercial shows from EXPRESS and Allistyle. Canadian supermodel Jessica Stam kicked off the EXPRESS show, while Whitney Thompson of ‘America’s Next Top Model’ fame opened for the Allistyle runway.

THE BRUNETTES talked fashion and parties with UNTTLD’s designer duo, José Manuel St-Jacques and Simon Bélanger, after their stunning Spring/Summer 2013 presentation and posed for a pic with Canada’s fashion authority, Jeanne Beker, after taking in the EXPRESS Spring/Summer 2013 closing show.

But, before the week could officially come to an end there was still the EXPRESS after party to attend. Highlights of the party included food and drink, mingling with models, EXPRESS clothing giveaways from a pop-up shop set up in the venue, and a rocking performance from Dragonette that had the whole room dancing until it was time to hit an offsite after-after party.
