Front Row Access: World Mastercard Fashion Week Spring 2015

The cold Toronto weather leaves us in anticipation for Spring and its more pleasant weather. Here are some of our favourite looks from the World MasterCard Fashion Week Spring 2015 event at David Pecaut Square. The front row shots capture edgy looks from Brit Wacher, Caitlin Power and first-time presenter Hayley Elsaesser who experimented with bold hues and vibrant prints.

Some of the event's other standouts included a relaxed and beach-ready range from elan+castor and a chic career woman presentation by Rachel Sin. The #WMCFW Spring 2015 event also featured eveningwear presentations by RUDYBOISNarces and Mikhael Kale who's work featured opulent and sculptural details.

The week's most memorable event was Disney Living's #MinnieStyle presentation that featured pop-culture themed outfit interpretations by designers like VAIKEN and Sid Neigum.

Chromatic Canadian Couture: The Mikhael Kale Fall 2014 Collection Embraces Vivid Textile Prints

Homegrown, Canadian talent Mikhael Kale kicked off the first day of World MasterCard Fashion Week with a stunning studio presentation that embodied a bold vision of new-age femininity. Mixing hard and soft elements, the designer showcased a line of ruched, cocktail dresses that were paired with oversized blazers, studded leather jackets, and show-stopping, riveted pieces that ranged from suede coats to an androgynous leather ensemble.

Known for his innovative construction techniques, Kale followed up on his impressive Spring 2014 showing with a vibrant collection that mixed artful accents with sophisticated silhouettes. This unique yet wearable collection is a breath of fresh air for next fall thanks to its vivid color scheme that is reminiscent of hues worn in the warmer spring and summer months.

Chic Cutout Couture: The Mikhael Kale Spring/Summer 2014 Collection Gives Motocross New Meaning

World MasterCard Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014 kicked off early this season with a crowd-pleasing collection debut from Mikhael Kale. The Mikhael Kale Spring/Summer 2014 collection showed at an offsite, warehouse location on October 18, 2013 and offered fashion-hungry guests a delicious appetizer of apparel to hold them over until the World MasterCard Fashion Week tent opened its doors the following week.

The stellar lineup from Kale featured motocross-inspired leathers with directional lines and sharp cutouts, strappy eveningwear, bold uses of colour and print, and show-stealing metallic numbers that had the room abuzz with photo tweets. The Mikhael Kale Spring/Summer 2014 collection set the standard for the week to come, reconciling edge with glamour in an immediately wearable—and desirable—way.
