Pulling inspiration from both the
‘80s and ‘90s, the Sid Neigum Fall/Winter 2013 collection presented the
designer’s vision of a high-fashion, post-apocalyptic world. Modern cuts,
structured silhouettes, asymmetrical tailoring, and sharp lines gave this
collection an edgy, avant-garde aesthetic, while oversized garments with
exaggerated draping provided a softer side to the range.
Models in the show walked the
runway wearing simple makeup palettes and samurai ponytails that stood straight
up into the air, further adding to the futuristic theme and minimalist design
of the collection. An instrumental soloist playing the cello provided the show
with its musical accompaniment, making the Sid Neigum Fall/Winter 2013
collection one of the more cerebral presentations at World MasterCard Fashion Week.
