Swag Brag: World MasterCard Fashion Week Spring 2014 Edition

With so many sponsors taking part at the World MasterCard Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014 tent this season, THE BRUNETTES went home with some major, swag giveaways.

Jewelry from Frida and Marilyn and Liz Palacios, faux-fur throws and festive pillows from Target, and anti-aging potions from NeoStrata were among some of our favourites. Other goodies included gift cards from designer labels and fast-fashion retailers like Le Château, laundry supplies from Procter & Gamble (not pictured here), and a jewelry billfold from PANDORA among many other freebies, making the ever-coveted seats in the front row desirable for reasons other than its prime view of the runway.

Swag Brag: The Beverley Hotel’s Grand Opening Edition

As a small token of appreciation for attending one of the most bourgeois boutique hotel launches in Toronto this year, guests of last month’s Beverley Hotel grand opening party were gifted with a swag bag of branded mementos to remember the event and venue by.

Each little paper bag came with a logo-printed tee in classic black-on-black, a tasty sugar cookie iced with the Beverley Hotel’s insignia, and a $20.00 gift card to ensure that all those who stopped by made a return trip to the Beverley’s ultra-hip lounge.

Swag Brag: The Suite for TIFF 2013 Edition

With tons of sponsors helping to make the premiere launch of Kelly Claman Company’s and Stylist Box’s joint venture, The Suite, a success, it’s no surprise that the style lounge that catered to outfitting and grooming celebrities for the TIFF red carpet was as much about swag as it was about fashion.

An endless supply of drinks and nibblies were offered up to guests at The Suite to satisfy their hunger between film screenings and while perusing the racks of the studio space’s designer collections. Attendees were able to enjoy complimentary beverages like mike’s authentic shandy, Palm Bay Spritz, and VitaminWater and snack on treats from Jelly Modern Doughnuts and Clafouti before selecting a designer outfit to borrow—also free of charge—to wear to their next TIFF event.

As if the food and refreshments weren’t enough, those who attended The Suite also received a TIFF-worthy gift bag that included stylish accessories and clothing from Kara by Kara Ross, Kova&T, Whitney Eve, Me to We Style, and Secret Legwear, as well as chocolate from Green & Black’s Organic label, a tin of Vitamints Recover, the most recent issue of Chloe Magazine, and much more, keeping film buffs stylish, satiated, healthy, and well-read all festival long.

THE BRUNETTES Attend the GliSODin Skin Nutrients Launch Event

Nothing compliments a sparkling gown better than a gorgeous complexion, a good figure, and a youthful vitality that comes from within. Perhaps this was the idea behind the Canadian launch party for GliSODin Skin Nutrients, an ingestible line of beauty aids that comes in pill and powder form to enhance one's beauty from the inside out. THE BRUNETTES attended the red carpet event last Thursday night, heading over once again to the historic Burroughes Building.

Inside, we had the opportunity to learn more about the exciting line of affordable products, which combines natural ingredients like lemon balm, krill oil, and artichoke, just to name a few, with the innovative science of GliSODin to keep one looking one's best. There are five unique products that make up the line; they consist of the Advanced Detoxification Formula, the Advanced Slimming Formula, the Advanced Skin Brightening Formula, the Advanced Anti-Aging Formula, and the Advanced Pre and Post Formula

The range was developed by a team of Paris-based nutritionists and dermatologists to help those seeking cosmetic procedures enhance their results, but can be used by anyone who desires brighter, clearer, younger-looking skin with more even tone, or a slimmer physique.

After learning what GliSODin could do for us, and why it has been featured in so many major fashion, lifestyle, and beauty magazines, it was time for the evening's festivities to begin. THE BRUNETTES danced to DJ-spun beats, mingled with cosmetic surgeons and beauty experts, nibbled on hors d'oeuvres, and raised a glass (or two) in GliSODin's honor.

President Francois Vix of Isocell Laboratories, the company behind the renowned GliSODin, along with one of Toronto's most sought after plastic surgeons, Dr. Cory Torgerson, were also in attendance and engaged the crowd in an entertaining and informative discussion about the one-of-a-kind benefits of the brand.

Not only did the two aesthetic leaders share how the GliSODin range of products has received accolades from their clients, friends, and family as being the most rewarding way to upgrade a beauty routine, but they also generously gifted full one-month supplies of select products from the line to each and every guest at the party. After a long night of dancing, and wining and dining, THE BRUNETTES were sure relieved to know they would have some GliSODin to keep them looking refreshed and rejuvenated come morning.

Swag Brag: World MasterCard Toronto Fashion Week Spring 2013 Edition

One of the most exciting reasons to attend any fashion event is to see what swag you’ll receive for the honor of your presence. The shows and sponsors of World MasterCard Toronto Fashion Week Spring 2013 didn’t disappoint when it came to generous giveaways. Clothing, beauty products, jewelry, accessories, sweets, underwear, stationary, fashion rags, gift cards, vouchers for cosmetic procedures, and many other tony gifts were doled out to fashion personalities, media and special guests over the course of the week.

Some of our favorites included a leather, buckled bracelet from Mackage, a $100.00 gift card from Rachel Sin, dress shirts and trousers from EXPRESS, and color-blocked, linen pocket squares from Whitney Linen. But the best gift bag, without question, had to come from the essie booth.

The award-winning nail art brand gave accredited media gift packs with over $200.00 of merchandise inside that featured still-to-be-released products so top secret that we can’t show it here until it is released in 2013. The bag also came packed with some on-trend colors of polish, nail care, and a chic, magnetic polish that leaves an embossed, croc-leather design on your nails with the use of a special magnet in its cap.

The essie booth didn’t stop there though; they gave free nail makeovers and new, runway-inspired polishes to all in attendance, while also providing its services to many of the runways at Fashion Week itself.
